Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell

I was in book heaven all week. Fangirl was an AHHMAAAZINGG story, with the best characters, and the cutest, sweetest, cry-at-nigh-because-I-want-a-romance-like-this romance. There were these small, subtle details that I would skim over in any other book but in this one, it was magic. To me, it's what made this book spectacular.

Cath’s whole life has been about Simon Snow. Both her and Wren, her twin sister, have read every book, reread them, dressed like the characters and most of all, created their own fanfiction based on the books. But now it’s time to head off to college and while Cath has no intentions of letting Simon go, Wren is ready to move on. All Cath has is now is Reagan, her broody roommate, Reagan's happy-go-lucky boyfriend, Levi, and Simon Snow. For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

They were a package deal, period. Since always.

Fangirl is one of the best books I’ve read all year. It was light, with some heavy moments, and just made me fall in love, with the characters, the banter…. everything. It was perfect. It made me feel all… girlie. I was laughing with Cath, feeling with Cath, falling in love alongside Cath. Fangirl leaves you with the best feeling.

“Cather!” he said with a smile. “It’s Cath.” “Are you sure?” He ran a hand through his hair. Like he was confirming that it was still messy. “Because I really like Cather.” “I’m sure,” she said flatly. “I’ve had a lot of time to think about it.”

Cath, praise the lords, was one of the most least annoying heroines ever. It was a pleasure reading about her and from her POV. She had me laughing and smiling at the smallest things.

[takes a bite out of her burger] “Oh, geez.” She spit it out.
“What’s wrong, did you get an eyelid?”
“No. Pickle. It’s okay. I just wasn’t expecting it.”

Cath

Levi,

Levi, Levi… I could write songs about him. He was that amazing. I go to my books to find the sexy, dominant, rip-your-panties-off guy but Levi; he’s the one you want to find in real life. The one you want to get married to and have the sweetest HEA with.

“… he was the brightest thing in the room, like he cast everything else into shadow.”

Levi

Rainbow Rowell’s characters and riddled with imperfections and honestly, that was the best part. It's was made them so real and relatable. Their imperfections are what made me laugh, smile and swoon. Rainbow Rowell had me eating out of the palm of her hand. The story completely captivated me. I was even enjoying the Simon Snow story… especially Carry On. I was into the Baz & Simon romance as much as Levi & Cath’s.

“For the record,” Snow grumbled. “I don’t want to spend any more time with you either.” Stupid boy… Baz sighed to himself, taking in Snow’s tense shoulders, the flush of anger in his neck, and the thick fall of bronze hair partially trapped in his goggles… what do you know about want?

I was dragging my heels reading this book, trying to make it last, but the pages would fly by and I’m almost disappointed this book couldn’t go on forever. I highly recommend reading Fangirl!!
